Clone Firm Warning

The Financial Conduct Authority has issued a warning against an unauthorised entity operating as Northern Index, which is cloning the details of the authorised fund THE NORTHERN FUNDS. The FCA stated that the fraudsters are using various telephone numbers, email addresses and postal addresses in London, Sydney and Toronto to convince people they are genuine.

Consumer Protections

Consumers dealing with the clone firm will not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service or protection from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if the firm goes out of business. The FCA advises checking the FS Register to verify the details of authorised firms before proceeding with financial services.
