In supporting documents following Chancellor John Healey's inaugural Budget on 28 October 2026, the government confirmed that measures enabling defined contribution scheme consolidation and introducing retirement collective defined contribution pensions will be introduced in the Finance Bill 2027/28. The legislative package also incorporates the guided retirement framework. Specific measures include expanding circumstances where members may keep certain protections following a transfer, and permitting members to transfer from a retirement collective defined contribution pension to a drawdown arrangement within a designated timeframe.
