Network Expansion Details

Intact Insurance has incorporated Guardian Group and Ceylinco Insurance into the Intact Global Network, extending its reach from more than 150 countries and territories to over 170. Guardian Group brings coverage across the Caribbean, adding territories such as Aruba, Anguilla, Antigua, Barbados, Belize, Curaçao, Guyana, and various islands across the region to complement existing partners in Trinidad and the Bahamas. Ceylinco Insurance extends coverage to the Maldives. Barbara O'Reilly, vice president of global network and multinational for the UK and Europe, stated that the expansion supports Intact's broader objective to establish itself as a leading global specialty lines insurer.

Commercial Context and UK Strategy

The network enables businesses to purchase coordinated multinational programmes featuring locally compliant policies issued via local partners under central oversight. The expansion aligns with Intact's UK commercial growth strategy following the rebranding of RSA and NIG across the UK, Ireland and Europe in October 2025, as the group targets an increase in UK commercial lines business from £2.7 billion to £5 billion by 2030. Competitors have also adjusted their international footprints recently, with Starr opening a Milan branch, Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance entering Poland, and HDI Global appointing a new managing director for France.
