Widening international access
The Managing General Agents' Association has expanded its membership criteria to include organisations based outside the UK and Ireland that maintain a commercial interest in those markets. The change follows member consultation and growing cross-border interest from European and US insurance businesses seeking distribution and capacity relationships.
Scope and limitations of membership
While overseas members gain access to the association's community, events and market insights, the MGAA confirmed that its regulatory and compliance support will remain restricted to the UK and Ireland. The association currently represents over 500 organisations whose MGA members write in excess of £18.5 billion in gross written premium.
