Role and background
Based in London, Andy Start will advise Marsh’s international businesses and global clients on strategic implementation, risk and opportunity analysis, and leadership development. Marsh stated that his background would offer additional perspective on complex business decisions and organisational resilience. Start previously served as Chief Executive of Defence Equipment & Support at the UK Ministry of Defence from September 2022 to April 2026, where he also sat on the MOD Board and acted as the UK National Armaments Director. He was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours List. Prior to his public service career, he held senior executive roles in the aerospace, space and defence sectors.
